About a month ago, we did our first rummage sale to raise money for our adoption from Ethiopia. We believe in what we call “praying specifically” so we started praying that we would raise what we needed for our home study. Which at the time was $1800. With the first rummage sale, we were able to raise that.

When the sale was over, we filled a 26 foot truck with all the stuff left over. So many people were so generous not only with their time, but with giving stuff for us to sell. The crazy thing was almost none of the kids stuff (strollers, car seats, high chairs, clothes) sold. So, one of our friends who owns a warehouse was generous enough to let us store everything until our next sale.

We are having our next rummage sale on August 14th from 7 – 11 am at 22nd St. Baptist Church (which is where Revolution now meets). You can see a map here. It is located at 6620 E 22nd St.

Many people have told us that they have stuff they would like to donate, so if that is you, please email us so that we can schedule a pick-up. Also, if you are willing to help set up on Friday during the day or in the evening or can help work the rummage sale on Saturday. Email us and let us know. We are praying to raise $2000 at this sale, so please join us in praying specifically for that.

And, please help us get the word out so that we don’t have to fill a truck again with stuff.
